Philosopher of Biology

I am a PhD Candidate in the School of History and Philosophy of Science at The University of Sydney, specialising in the Philosophy of Biology (expected completion in early 2026). My research focuses on the problem of biological individuality, with particular interest in the spatial, temporal, and agential dimensions of the problem. I also have special interests in the philosophy of life and death, as well as ethics and metaphysics.
Growing up outside of Canberra, Australia, I have a mixed academic background in both biology and philosophy. In my research, I aim to connect contemporary empirical research from the biological sciences with philosophical problems, methods, and theories. I have taught across multiple subjects, including as a lecturer in History and Philosophy of the Biomedical Sciences, Bioethics, and a HPS Interdisciplinary Project with the Australian Museum.
